In simple terms this does the opposite of a distribution amplifier, in that it allows selection of 1 of 2 HDMI signals to one screen.  If audio is also cabled into this (and back out to the screen of course), audio will be switched at the same time.

early and have them shipped for laying under a floor etc.

EXTRA NOTE on HDMI Cables :

The Maximum HDMI lead length is 15 metres (and they HAVE to be genuinely very high quality at that length). These CANNOT be joined to be more than 15 metres.  Please talk to our engineers in GOOD TIME if you need to go ABOVE this length as we have solutions but they need to be discussed in detail (AND in ADVANCE).
