A compact and powerful PA system utilising 2 active powered speakers ideal for conference work, product launches, meetings etc. Each speaker has two built in power amplifiers (lower and higher freqencies) and as such needs no external amplifier (just a mixer). Each speaker just needs a signal cable from the mixer and a mains lead to each speaker so cabling is quite different to a normal set up. This reslts in a suprisingly powerful system given its rated size as all components are in 'balance' with each other so effectively work much harder. This is also very compact for transport. 2 height adjustable floor stands (not shown) are also included. The compact mixer supplied allows you to connect up to 6 individual pieces of equipment (5 of which can also be microphones). Used widely by major tv companies etc, Sennheiser microphones are extemely well made and perform fantstically. A handheld microphone is the easiest type to use and best all round performance of any type of microphone as the balance of feedback rejection and simplicity of use (just pick it up and go) makes this ideal for roving presenters and passing to someone rapidly during question & answer sessions etc. This (as all our radio systems) features UHF transmission which is far less crowded than cheap VHF models, a wide choice of switchable frequencies to avoid clashing with another system in the same range (very important at exhibitions and conferences) and diversity reception - twin receivers which auto select the best reception (constantly) and silently select the best one on a constantly on-going basis.

Sennheiser Lapel Radio Microphone Day £35 / Show Price £95

Used widely by major tv companies etc, Sennheiser microphones are extemely well made and perform fantstically. A lapel microphone gives that all important freedom of movement as well as freedom of both hands. However, a word of warning; As lapel mic's are also the most sensitive type of microphone - simply because of where they are positioned on the body (and as such have to be extra sensitive) they are extremely prone to feedback problems (simple laws of physics). A lapel microphone should only be considered for use where no alternative exists AND a feedback elimintor (see below) should ALWAYS be used in a P.A. situation (loudspeakers in the same room - as is mostly the case of course). A headset mic (below this one on this page) allows a balance of the feedback rejection offered by a handheld type (as it is held in close proximity to the mouth so does not need to be as sensitive) but still allows freedom to use with both hands (this is purely why headset mic's exist). A headset microphone gives that all important freedom of movement as well as freedom of both hands but does not suffer much of the prominant feedback issues of a lapel type of microphone. In truth this is often a less popular solution as generally people have an objection to 'messing up their hair' but it also has to be said that this is often the only viable solution when needing relative high volume levels, freedom to move around and freedom to use both hands in a P.A. situation (loudspeakers in the same room - as is mostly the case of course). This (as all our radio systems) features UHF transmission which is far less crowded than cheaper VHF models, a wide choice of switchable frequencies to avoid clashing with another system in the same range (very important at exhibitions and conferences) and diversity reception - twin receivers which auto select the best reception (constantly) and silently select the best one on a constantly on-going basis.

2 Channel Digital Feedback Destroyer Day £30 / Show Price £60

A 2 channel fully automatic digital feedback detector and eliminator. This clever 'gadget' detects feedback and near instantly suppresses the exact frequency by using extremely narrow band electronic audio filters which are practically undetectable on the overall sound but knock the troublesome frequencies 'out'. Feedback depends on a great many factors but the most important thing is to carefully select speaker placement (and sound reflections) to be away from the microphone use area. This equipment allows otherwise impossible levels of speech at relative close proximity to loudspeakers. We consider this to be absolutely essential when using any type of lapel microphone which by their very nature are far more sensitive than handheld or headset types. The best way to set this up is to allow the presenter to walk around the venue before the event starts and let this little box work its magic. It can be used ‘on the fly’ with more careful control of the levels and it will still detect and suppress. Whilst nothing can truly eliminate feedback totally, this clever little gadget really does allow you to get much higher PA volumes in the same room as the presenter than would otherwise be possible.
