Firstly, this light is a custom made unit and is only available from us. When choosing a light for our rental stock we looked at the available units on offer from different manufacturers and liked different features on different equipment but no one manufacturer made what we wanted, so in our own style we made our own from what we felt to be the good parts of others. Hence, this is truly only available from us (unless someone’s been copying us). This has a 250 Watt high intensity lamp with optionally rotating gobo holder (1 gobo only), single / split colour wheel and external orbital mirror (with variable sweep). This main feature is that it can and does operate as a truly stand alone projector - totally without the need for programming (ideal for exhibition stands) or remote control via DMX. Supplied and fitted with new lamp for every new hire and a 1 spare. The lamps are NOT chargeable if blown unlike many of our competitors – we do like to look after you…

Custom Made Gobo’s
Gobo’s can be very eye catching and add movement to an otherwise static display. However, gobo’s take time to make. We quote 7 working days minimum (which should be counted as 10 real days) from the time that artwork is agreed. We feel that it is therefore better to consider 2 weeks as a realistic minimum. Artwork can of course be e-mailed but at all times it needs to be very good quality and NOT scaled up from lower resolution images as the quality will just not be there. Fuzzy edges are multiplied many times by the projection process).
Please also consider that gobo’s are round and show a limited amount of detail. A good guide is to keep text width to no more than 16 letters maximum per line (12 is better). Logos can of course be included but the main point is that all edges need to be ‘clean’ and ‘hard’ as this is how a gobo works (passage ‘or not’ of light).
Spot colour and full colour gobo’s (whilst NOT being recommended because of the high cost and limited performance) can be produced but the cost increases significantly. Full colour is presently around £450 per gobo. However, please bear in mind when considering using a spot colour or full colour, this is often fairly ineffective anyway as performance depends on what the projected image (light) is actually falling on – in most circumstances this is a coloured wall or carpet and coloured light is then significantly less effective. In short we suggest using simple white light as this is far brighter and gives good cost versus performance. Use the ones shown here as a guide and/or get in touch.
